A crucial part of The Romney Marsh Project are the physical explorations of the landscape. It quickly became clear that moving image and sound would be integral pillars of the project. It is a wind-swept region but it does host a lot of chatter from birds and sheep, the roar of the roads, the horns of the trains, the swoosh of the turbines, the thud of shotguns, the peal of church bells. Until I can host higher resolution videos these stand as placeholders. Some clips highlight the sounds better than others, but even when the wind is tearing into the microphone you can feel the atmosphere out on the Marsh.
